The Earthly Paradise is a celebration of the quest for the true, the good and the beautiful. It was inspired by the art of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, classic literature and mythology and the writings of William Morris and the Romantic Poets.
William Morris is probably best known for his proclamation “if you want a golden rule that will fit everything, this is it: Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.” I believe this rule is as applicable to the whole of life as it is to interior decoration. I write about art, design, technology and daily life. I’m fascinated by the idea of living in the moment and using everything I have at my fingertips in order to create a bit of paradise here on earth.
I am passionate about art and aesthetics and I have always been a bit of an “information sponge.” I was trained as a historian specializing in Latin American economic history, and I love research. These days I’m focusing on raising my two young daughters. They have definitely been my most influential teachers!

Thanks, Phillip. It was an interesting article, wasn’t it? I was struck by one of the figures similarity to Pygmalion’s
statue…thanks for the link.
